The User Group
The NPUG or National Promaps User Group is made up of individual force
department heads who meet bi-annually to discuss identification matters
and make decisions on national police strategy moving forward
This forum
gives a voice to the end users and allows them to be heard at a national
level. A Promaps representative is always available for these meetings as
this gives us, the supplier, an all-important insight into the operational use of the system
Discussion and Feedback
- How we are delivering what you need
- How it is making a difference operationally
- How we can improve or enhance our products and services to you
- Officer operational challenges
- Case law
- User experience
- Proposed changes to the legal framework
The forum covers all areas of identification, it is not intended to be dedicated to the
Promaps system itself. A large proportion of the meetings allow individual organisations to
speak to the group about any matters that have arisen and to use the group as a sounding
board before proceeding down a certain path for individual procedures
This results in a collaboration between forces, and its success is down to the continued
support of its members who see this as an invaluable platform to share experiences and
discuss all matters relating to identification
We also provide a private, members only, online forum for identification officers.
Minutes from previous meetings are posted to the forum along with any relevant case law
or white papers. Additionally, the forum allows identification officers to upload content,
post questions for discussion, and open communications channels in regards to any pertinent issues
